On Oct., 25th, 2016, the Assessment Report of the Competition Pattern and Investment Prospects of Chinese Corrugated Case Market from 2016 to 2022 released by Zhiyan.Org showed that the gradual resurgence of the American economy, especially the continuous increase of the production and sales volume of food, beverage and durable goods, will drive the demand growth of corrugated case and box. It is estimated that in 2016, the market size of corrugated case and box in the U.S. will reach $36.5 billion, among which, the demand for corrugated case and hardboard case will be $26.1 billion and the demand for folding carton will be $9.8 billion. The latest statistics in this industry show that in July, 2015, the sales volume of carton in the U.S. increased 1.3%; the inventory of corrugated board increased 79 thousand tons; the rate of open paperboard plant is 96.3%. According to the data by Fibre Box Association (FBA), in July, 2015, the sales volume of corrugated case in the U.S. was 31.916 billion square feet with a year-on-year growth of 1.3%; the weekly sales volume also realized 1.3% year-on-year growth on average. Furthermore, from January to July, the sales volume of corrugated case in the U.S. increased with a year-on-year growth of 1.5%; weekly sales volume also reached a year-on-year growth of 2.1%. In the aspect of inventory, at the end of July, corrugated board inventory in paperboard plant increased from 79 thousand tons to 2.569 million tons in June. Meanwhile, the number of weeks for supply also increased from 4.2 in June to 4.4 in July. In the aspect of production, in July, the production of corrugated board in the U.S. increased with a year-on-year growth of 1.8%; the cumulative production from January to July increased with a year-on-year growth of 2.3%. A Research Report of Global Packaging Market of Corrugated Paper Box in the Future released by Passion International Consultant estimated that in 2019, the output value made by packaging market for corrugated paper box will reach $176 billion. At present, corrugated board has become the most widely used packing material in modern packaging.
